SADiE ANNOUNCES PCM-H16 HIGH-POWER STUDIO WORKSTATION
NAB CONVENTION, Las Vegas, NV, April 2006 - SADiE announces the imminent availability of the PCM- H16 high-power studio workstation. The SADiE PCM-H16 is a new high power DSP-based workstation for all complex, high resolution audio applications and is the latest addition to the renowned family of SADiE Series 5 digital audio workstations. In addition, the new machine is set to take advantage of the powerful new editing & recording features announced in V5.5 software for the Series 5 range.
Specification includes 16 channels of AES and high quality A/D and D/A inputs and outputs, 64 streams of 24bit 48kHz audio with real-time cross-fades and punch-ins, and offers similar DSP processing power to the flagship PCM-H64 multi-track system. This improved performance ensures that the most complex surround mixes and high sample rate projects are handled with ease, together with the musician-friendly millisecond latency and the great sound quality for which SADiE is legendary.
Similarly, in TV post-production studios, the powerful stem controls enable different versions to be track-layed and mixed within one EDL with DSP capacity to spare. In its post-production guise, the PCM16 ships with integrated AAF, OMF, ProTools and AES-31 interchange facilities, and the industry's most flexible tape and disk-based auto-conform packages, including audio and video re-conform from a change list. It also includes integrated non-linear video record and replay, which uniquely amongst workstations allows the video stream to be cut and edited in the same EDL alongside the audio.
Further suitable installations include surround mastering studios for music and DVD/HD soundtrack preparation, where the ability to edit and layer multiple 5.1 stems offers unmatched flexibility and creativity without the need to bounce or render any audio. The supplied I/O enables monitoring and aux send/return of surround mixes and will also support 192kHz.
Full support for console control is included, supporting desks such as the SSL AWS900, Yamaha, and Mackie HUI variants.
Continuing SADiE's long tradition of EDL and file format transparency, the PCM16 enables direct record and replay not only of PC-friendly files such as Broadcast WAV, but also Macintosh format files such as AIFF and even SDII directly to Macintosh HFS+ format hard drives. The PCM16 enables import of clients' audio in any form, and on any type of drive.
