General FAQs
?
Will SADiE 6 work with my SADiE hardware?
Answer:
SADiE 6 is intended to work with any hardware that supported SADiE 5.6, although it no longer depends on it and can run natively on Windows computers with no SADiE hardware connected.
?
If I buy SADiE now will I get SADiE 6?
Answer:
Yes, all purchasers of SADiE 5 systems from Sept 1st 2009 will be entitled to receive the SADiE 6 edition of their choice at the date of public release at no additional cost.
?
Will my plug-ins from SADiE 5 work with SADiE 6?
Answer:
SADiE plan to continue support for the custom engineered plugs-ins from previous versions, but updated versions with a new licensing mechanism will be required if running without SADiE 5 hardware - this is due to the licensing scheme for SADiE plug-ins that relied up on the SADiE DSP card. Work is in progress in co-operation with SADiE Plug-in partners to deliver this.
?
Are the file formats compatible between SADiE 5 and SADiE 6?
Answer:
Yes!
?
Is there an upgrade path for existing SADiE users?
Answer:
Yes.

for details.
?
Will SADiE 6 work with my version of Windows?
Answer:
SADiE 6 is a 32 bit Windows application and is only supported on Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7 32 bit versions. For Windows 7, the Starter and Home Basic editions are not supported.
?
Will SADiE work with Anti-virus software?
Answer:
Yes – however it has been noticed that setting your AV software so that it doesn’t scan the SADiE audio folders will improve the speed it takes to go into play.
If your antivirus software supports it, you could alternatively set it to stop scanning all WAV, PFM, PFL and PFR files.
?
SADiE takes a few seconds to go into 'Play' - why is this?
Answer:
Although there may be other reasons, one reason that seems quite common is that anti-virus software is scanning the source files as they are loaded. Setting your anti-virus software so that it doesn't scan your SADiE audio folders should improve this.
If your antivirus software supports it, you could alternatively set it to stop scanning all WAV, PFM, PFL and PFR files.

How do I get the SADiE 6 Software?
Answer:
Please visit
the SADiE 6 download page
and fill in a download request form. You will then be emailed a link which will take you to the download page. The link is only valid for 7 days so it's best to get the download right away if possible. If not, simply fill in the form again when you're ready. The download is a Windows executable installer. Simply save the file and run it to install the software.
?
I've filled in the download form, but didn't get an email. What do I do?
Answer:
When you have filled in the download form, it will say where it has sent the email. It does this
after
it has sent the email as confirmation that the email
has
been sent. If you don't receive the email within a minute or two, the most common causes are:
Error in email address - check that you entered the address correctly. We get quite a lot of bounced emails from mis-typed email addresses
Mail box full - if you are not receiving any email, this is quite a common reason.
Mail box policies - we get a few emails bounced back requesting an authentication response - since this is an automated system, this will not happen. You will need to use a mail box that can receive these emails.
Spam filters - the above reasons we know about because we get bounced email responses. If you or your service provider are using spam filtering, we tend not to get a response, but anecdotal evidence suggests that some systems can treat the automated email from our website as spam. We are working to improve this situation, but, in the mean time, please check your spam filter.
