SADiE ANNOUNCES MULTICHANNEL H64 REMOTE
AES Convention, Barcelona - 28th May 2005 - SADiE announces the European launch of the H64 Remote, a new dedicated multi-channel remote controller for the SADiE PCM-H64 DAW for post and music applications.
Following on from the introduction of the PCM H64 DAW last year, the new SADiE H64 Remote has been designed to provide an ergonomic hardware control surface to satisfy the needs of Professionals in Post Production, in both editorial and dubbing applications, and true Multi-track recording in Studio and Live environments.
Operationally, the H64 Remote can be broken down into a series of functional blocks which concentrate on specific areas of work: track arming and monitoring, group functions, transport controls, locating and full editing controls are complimented by external machine control. Together with twin time-code displays, a full colour screen can be configured to show metering or editing information depending upon the task at hand, and will normally supplement full-sized screens from the H64 base unit. Designed to be intuitive in use and incorporating extensive input from industry professionals, the H64 Remote will quickly prove to be a highly productive tool for the operator.
The track area controls and displays the status of each individual track. Record enable, input switching, edit control, mute and solo of each individual track or stem, together with status displays, provide visible feedback. Transport controls provide for all normal multi-track remote functions plus the additional benefit of single-button jumps forwards or backwards through the playlist and the ability to instantly repeat sections of the EDL.
The edit control area features a fully weighted jog-wheel together with a full range of function buttons that include multiple preview modes, rapid location devices, region and trim editing models.
The software behind the host PCM H64 can be either the normal SADiE V5.4 interface or alternatively, when being used as a Multi-Channel Dubber or Recorder, a radically simplified user interface is available to simplify operation.
Partnered with the PCM H64 Digital Audio Workstation Linked with its ability to provide multiple MADI interfaces or multiple channels of other i/o options, plus SADiE's new powerful re-conforming code and file interchange options, the SADiE H64 Remote provides a powerful and effective system representing the next generation of advanced multi-track recording and editing systems for post production and music recording.
Speaking of the new development, SADiE Managing Director Joe Bull commented, "Following the successful introduction of the PCM H64, our customers expressed a need for a more advanced editing remote controller than anything currently available elsewhere. The new H64 Remote has been designed in conjunction with industry-leading professionals to provide precise control of the extensive editing capability of SADiE, together with comprehensive multi-channel management. The H64 Remote is the perfect partner for the SADiE PCM H64 Multi-Channel digital audio workstation."
