NAUTILUS MASTERING BUYS SADiE PCM8 SYSTEMS
IBC Amsterdam, 8-12 Sept. 2006 - Leading Milan facility Nautilus Mastering has acquired three new SADiE PCM8 systems as part of a general upgrade, continuing their long and successful association with SADiE.
Nautilus is the most advanced mastering complex currently operating in the Italian market. Established in 1996 with the goal of setting the technological and sound-quality standard in mastering and related services, Nautilus now boasts more experience and credits than any other mastering studio in Italy and is the only studio with a team of three highly talented mastering engineers.
Since the facility was founded it has been responsible for mastering the great majority of hit and trend-setting singles and albums produced in Italy. In recent years, Nautilus has also mastered albums and singles for many international artists, principally from Spain, Miami and other "Latin" areas.
Nautilus is also proud to have collected many technical awards, including nine nominations and five prizes in the Grammy Naras and Grammy U.S. Latin categories. Its two mastering studios and two editing and authoring rooms have been designed to meet a range of requirements in the fields of mastering, authoring and related services.
Commenting on the new purchase, Antonio Baglio, Nautilus' Chief Mastering Engineer says, "Nautilus was founded in 1996 and since that time we have invested in 10 SADiE systems at the rate of one per year! We have made so many Stereo and 5.1 Mastering, CD and SACD Masters during this time and have never run into a serious problem. All the technical staff here love the SADiE user interface, the editing features, the rock-solid system stability and the great sonic quality of SADiE. So when we decided for a major renewal of our hardware there was no other choice but SADiE 5 and we ordered three PCM8 units to go along with our DSD8 and the older systems. I can't wait to enjoy the extend Giga network capabilities, SAN disk and centralised Back-up solutions".
