Prism Sound takes on BBC maintenance contract for SADiE

May 2008 - Cambridge, UK: Following its acquisition of the business and intellectual property rights of SADiE, formerly owned by Studio Audio and Video Ltd, Prism Sound has signed a three year contract with the BBC to maintain all of its SADiE PC-based digital audio workstation products.

The corporation currently has over 800 SADiE systems, which are primarily used for radio production. The majority of the systems are in Portland Place and Bush House in London, but there are also a substantial number in regional offices around the UK.

Graham Boswell, director of Prism Sound, says: "We are delighted that the BBC has re-affirmed its longstanding commitment to SADiE digital audio workstations and LRX2 digital audio mixers, which have long been the mainstay of its editing and location recording capabilities. The SADiE product range is renowned for its speed and ease of use, making it ideal for radio drama production and news where the emphasis is on a quick turnaround. Prism Sound is now in a position to ensure that all SADiE systems within the corporation are properly maintained so that they continue to deliver great results for many years to come."

Both Prism Sound and SADiE share the view that customers should be provided with the most relevant tools for the task in hand, whilst ensuring the absolute sonic integrity of the programme material. SADiE digital audio workstations and mixers are as flexible in operational terms as it is possible to design. All major tasks may be completed in a variety of methods depending upon the preference of the user so that they deliver the most effective solutions.
